On your wedding day, you, your partner, and two guests will arrive at the bookstore at your specified check-in time. Then you and up to three other couples will walk into the bookstore, transformed into a wedding venue! When it’s your turn, you and your partner will walk down the aisle to the back where your ceremony will be performed by Billy Osteen of Poor Billy’s Barbershop. Then you’ll get photos, sign your document, and enjoy wedding cupcakes! The next morning, you’ll need to file your marriage certificate to make it official.

For the couple, absolutely nothing! We will reimburse you for the $86 marriage certificate cost. Additionally, we’ll cover flowers, music, photography, and more.

Because it’s free, we will need sponsorships. For $150, you can sponsor one couple to get married!

You must meet Florida’s marriage eligibility requirements, be a legal adult, and be in a queer-presenting relationship (“same-sex” under the law). If you are legally able to get married now but may not be in the future, you qualify for the Moonstruck Chapel.

RSVP on our Eventbrite, select your time slot, and attend our paperwork workshop Zoom call which will prepare you for getting your marriage license and what to bring day-of.

Yes!

• Party-goers: Stand outside and celebrate with the couples as they arrive and exit. Needed from 9am-7pm.

• Wedding Party: Specific roles inside the event such as set-up, check-in, ceremony, reception, and clean-up. Various roles needed from 7:30am-9:30pm.

• Stand-in parent: Be there for a couple whose parents aren't attending

• Wedding vendor: Wedding industry professionals (bakers, florists, photographers) can volunteer their services.

• Spreading the word: Helping us let all of Florida know!
