Queer Company Gatherings

We are joining forces with To Write Love on Her Arms and hosting a nonjudgmental peer-led space where our community can come together to give and receive support for one another. Peer-led support groups are nonclinical spaces where we do not seek to fix, analyze or diagnose one another. We believe that each person has a different set of things that work for them and center supporting somebody in the way that they want to be supported.

This is an opportunity to build our support system and hold space for one another as we navigate our unique life journeys as LGBTQIA+ individuals and the struggles associated. We welcome those that are questionings, multiple gender loving, asexual, or ANY label under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella. We welcome anyone that is18+ and a part of our community living anywhere to join us!

This space will be hosted by To Write Love on Her Arms at the Moonstruck Market every 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month from 5:30PM-7PM. It will be provided at no cost to attendees. It is for anybody 18+.

DIY Journal Cover Workshop
Oct

DIY Journal Cover Workshop

Pick your size, vegan leather color, elastic color, and charms to make a trifold journal cover that is uniquely yours!

WHAT’S A JOURNAL COVER?

Journal covers are leather, vegan leather, or fabric covers with elastic bands that can hold multiple notebook inserts. They help keep your thoughts, to-dos, ideas, and more all in one place.

The inserts can easily be switched out when they get full or when your needs change, but your journal cover can stay a staple of your days for years to come.

We are not providing notebooks or inserts themselves, just supplies to make the covers. If you’re making your cover to suit a specific notebook, we recommend you bring it to ensure a perfect fit!

WHAT’S INVOLVED?

At the workshop, you’ll be provided all necessary supplies, including vegan leather, a template in your chosen size, grommets, elastic, and lots of charms to choose from.

The process will be fairly simple, and it’s a great activity for anyone of any age or skill level!

Again, we aren’t providing notebooks themselves—this workshop is to DIY the covers!

COLORS AND SIZES

Refer to the photos below to understand the available colors and sizes. You can pick your size at the workshop, but to buy tickets, you’ll need to pick your color today. The solid colors are available at the base rate of $45, but for an extra $5, you’ll be able to select a gorgeous distressed color. If you don’t select a color at all, we’ll surprise ya!

Want an extra sheet of leather to make additional covers? DM us on Instagram @moonstruck.market

Writing Workshop: Fiction 101

Fiction 101, a writing workshop for beginners!

This workshop is a great intro for anyone who's wanted to write a novel but doesn't know where to start, or for anyone who would like a refresher on writing fiction. You'll learn how to create characters who feel real, build worlds that complement your story, and understand plot structures in order to execute your story idea to the best of your ability. This workshop is taught by Connor, Moonstruck's owner and longtime writing fanatic.

Join us bimonthly for writing workshops as the Moonstruck Writers’ Guild! Each workshop will include an hour presentation on a specific topic by a local writer, a Q&A session to get even more clarity, and then an hour and a half critique session. During critique, up to three writers will have thirty minutes total to read up to 1500 words of their manuscript as others follow along on printouts or a shared Google Doc, and receive thoughtful critique from the other attendees. Writers can sign up for critique on a first come, first serve basis. If you receive critique at a session, please wait two sessions before requesting critique again.

Ticket options:

  • Workshop

  • Workshop + critique

Use code BRINGAFRIEND for $10 off two tickets!
